As a Commercial Sales Leader you will be responsible for driving the organization's commercial sales channel, with a focus on achieving revenue goals through strategic vision, execution, and team leadership. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders to enhance and execute the commercial sales plan, forecasts, and budgets, while providing leadership and development opportunities to the commercial sales team. Responsible for implementing the processes and strategies to meet or exceed established sales targets in collaboration with the brand P&L owners. Builds individual and organizational capabilities within Sales that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction while providing strategic business direction and executional focus. Allocate spending on strategic initiatives while managing the sales department budget.

This position has personnel management responsibilities and reports to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Essential Functions

  • Develops an integrated business plan and annual sales plan based on plans from Brand Management, revenue targets, competitor analyses, product trends, while understanding our customer base and merchandising through collaboration and teamwork in support of organization strategy and objectives.
  • Drive sales goals by developing tailored strategies for key accounts that align with company targets.
  • Motivates Sales team success and overall job satisfaction through the balance of compensation (salary and bonus), well-developed business expectations, connecting to company growth plans, professional growth opportunities, and work-life balance.
  • Develops, implements and executes the sales performance management process (which includes recruiting, hiring, training, ongoing personal and professional sales development, advancement planning and termination).
  • Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.
  • Creates and maintains a sales team culture that mirrors our company values and fosters an environment of learning while achieving marketplace success.
  • Oversees corporate account relationships, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and analytics teams to align promotional efforts and account strategies with brand initiatives
  • Up to 50% travel will be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university;
  • Five to ten years of sales management experience;
  • FMCG experience with strong chain account relationships
  • Experience dealing in a multi-location organization with various stakeholders
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license and clean driving record;
  • Proven ability to manage teams to exceed sales performance expectations; strong people development skills;
  • Consultative selling skills, must exhibit a wide range of independent decision making and control;
  • Elevated level of financial and business acumen, able to analyze and solve problems with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new systems quickly;
  • General awareness knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements, company Quality Policy and your contributions to the effectiveness of the QMS;
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable of and acting in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consumer packaged goods (CPG) sales experience
  • Master’s Degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field.
